A native Rhode Islander Mark grew up on 30 acres of land and spent much of his childhood enjoying the outdoors. He is raising his own family with the same values: No TV, no cell phones, no microwave

Striving toward self-sufficiency and environmental sustaibaility, in his free time you will find mark outside on his farm pulling weeds from the garden or putting finishing touches on the new barn

Last fall, mark converted heating the hot water to wood and plans to add in solar next. His motto is that "one can do anything oneself by self-teaching from a book"

He attended Connecticut College and graduated with a double major in economics and graphic design in 1992. He has been self-employed and has managed his own construction company for over 20 years."
